Inspiration

INSPIRATION

     Our goal is to develop the world's leading silk company. In doing so, we aim to use it as a vehicle to address one of the fastest growing social tragedies of this age - human trafficking. The sex trade industry is quickly becoming a global atrocity and southeast Asia is, perhaps, feeling it the most. As we live in our world, we can ignore or pretend these horrible crimes do not occur or affect us. Yet, in a shrinking world with far reaching capabilities, we have a responsibility to think and act globally, especially in areas that affect human lives. All people deserve the right to freedom - something many enjoy, but often fail to appreciate. Many young women in southeast Asia do not have this right. Sure, it is easy to dismiss their plight based on their anathematized industry. However, most are forced to enter and forced to stay, robbing them of their own dignity, respect, and hope. Most of us will never experience the daily oppression and abuse that these women endure. If we can help just one, it will have been worth it.
     As a company, we will contribute to organizations fighting for the rights of these women - rescuing them, restoring them, and returning them to a place of dignity and hope.
